About the Dapper Dan surfboards

” THE DAPPER DAN (OR DUPPERDAN AS I friendly calling it) IS my PREFERRED SURFBOARD BY far. It’s cool & designed, freak and actrative, floating high on a it’s trim and easily enjoy the speed propelled by the finest four version fins… propulsion!…”
FEATURES INCLUDE A FULL blunt NOSE, A BOARD THAT WILL PADDLE WELL, GET IN EARLY, STILL DELIVER A FIN ROUNDHOUSE CUTBACK, THE WIDE AREA TAiL MAKES IT AN IDEAL ROCKETSHIP FOR 2-6 FOOT SURF, AND, WHILE THE ORIGINAL TWIN-FIN CONFIGURATIONS GAVE IT A WILD, “SKATEY” FEEL; THE CONTEMPORARY QUAD FIN PRODUCES MUCH MORE DRIVE AND POSITIVE HANDLING… YOU CAN CARVE, SNAP, NOSERIDE, AND BASSICALLY FLY IN A DOWN THE LINE ON A WAVE. ALSO THIS BOARD HAVE A REALLY SMALL THICKNESS ON THE TAIL, WORKS BEST IN LONG OPEN FACED WAVES BUT HAS BEEN TESTED PROVEN TO WORK IN HOLLOW BEACH BREAK AND REEF BREAKS.

wide smooth Round Tail :

This is a smoother continuation of the board’s contour, coming to a lite-smooth rounded end.
With the curve shape you should expect more round, drawn out turns and less sharper, pivotal turns than its square tail counterpart.
The added surface area will also provide more speed in slow spots and helps give the board a bit more lift in the rear and allows for a looser, more turnable board. These are popular on shortboards where maneuverability is key.
A round tail will provide more release off the top of a wave than a squash or swallow tail, Round tails help direct the water around the end of the board and provide more stability in hollow, fast surf.

feature smooth, geometric (nearly elliptical), constant curves in the plan shape or template. They are common to longer shortboards, semi guns, and hybrids where one of the fundamental design goals is an easier tighter turning radius turn from a surfboard whose extra length would otherwise result in the surfboards performance being relatively "stiff." Another common use of a continuous curve outline is matching it with a flatter more relaxed rocker profile in an average shortboards and hybrids. (When a flatter rocker profile is essential to the design goals of the surfboard or the preference of the surfer.) The curved outline matched with flatter rocker yields a surfboard that maintains acceleration and drive out of the turns and can still carve a very tight radius turn board and provide more stability in hollow, fast surf.

I builds this plywood fins specifically for these boards.
The big twin-keel shape generates loads of drive and speed, but unlike a conventional twin-fin, you still have ample control through directional turns. this shape allows to do rest the flippers and reduce drag

New twin keel fin shape :

I like my keel better on those smaller/weaker lined-up days because it seems to go faster in a straight line. I grab the quad when it's chest high or better and a little more punchy for the maneuverability. Sometimes it's hard to decide, but I love 'em both.

maximizes planing surface area without adding to swing weight, and extra rocker. allows for big, sweeping turns. The blunt nose floats better and is easier to ride, even in smaller surf. make it easier to paddle, glide, and plane on the surface because it helps to keep more of the surfer out of the water.

This specific fiberglass cloth is mainly used in “Old School” and “Retro” surfboard glassing. It comes in a 7.5oz weight that is designed to absorb a lot of resin. This gives you a strong board, but it does also make the board a bit heavier. Another thing to know is that it gives a slight green tint to the finish that works great on a gloss/polish clear, tinted, or pigmented board. In essence if you are ordering any “Retro” or “Old School” custom surfboards, and if you want a unique looking finish, look no more.
